We’re looking for a skilled and passionate Pastry Chef / Baker to join our kitchen team part-time or full-time. You’ll be responsible for making beautiful and consistent baked goods while helping to shape and maintain the quality of our pastry offering. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic kitchen, values quality and creativity, and enjoys working collaboratively.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and bake pastries, breads, and sweets to a high standard.

  • Execute recipes with precision and creativity.

  • Manage production for your shift, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

  • Monitor inventory of pastry ingredients and assist with ordering when needed.

  • Keep the kitchen organised, clean, and aligned with food safety protocols.

  • Support and collaborate with the broader kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Who You Are

  • You have 3+ years of experience in a professional kitchen or bakery, with a strong foundation in pastry and baking.

  • You take pride in your craft and have an eye for detail and presentation.

  • You’re reliable, independent, and work well under pressure.

  • You communicate clearly and collaborate with others easily.

  • You’re organised and proactive in maintaining structure in your work.

About Fonda

Fonda is a café and bar at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Fonda presents two distinct locations within the museum where visitors may pause and relax while staying connected to the museum’s creative energy.  

Fonda Bar is open to the public in the museum's entrance hall. The bar’s menu features daily baked goods made in-house, La Cabra coffee, Japanese teas, and refreshing soft drinks. Fonda Café, located on the first floor, is exclusively for museum ticket holders. The café’s menu celebrates homestyle cooking with a refined twist. The simple, comforting dishes are made with seasonal ingredients and surprising elegant elements.

Fonda comes from the same team behind Oficina, a canteen and food design studio based in Amsterdam. The team combines a love for food with thoughtful design to create spaces where community and quality are at the forefront.
