We are looking for a skilled and service-minded barista to join our small front-of-house team. Someone who enjoys working with quality coffee, and who also contributes to a warm and welcoming guest experience – not only behind the bar, but also through table service and day-to-day collaboration with the kitchen.
Responsibilities + Tasks
Dial in our espresso machine and grinder daily in order to deliver a high-quality product.
Prepare and serve various coffee, tea and cold beverages, consistently meeting high-quality standards.
Interact with customers friendly and engagingly, take orders accurately, and provide recommendations based on individual preferences.
Ensure the coffee preparation area is clean and organised, and adheres to hygiene and safety standards. Regularly clean coffee equipment and utensils.
Deliver a guest experience that reflects the calm, focused energy of Oficina with attention to detail, care, and genuine hospitality.
Communicate clearly with guests, offer recommendations, and share product knowledge
Monitor and maintain the quality of coffee beans, ensuring freshness and flavour consistency. Conduct regular checks on brewing equipment.
Work efficiently during peak hours to manage multiple orders, ensuring prompt and accurate service without compromising quality.
Collaborate with other team members, including kitchen staff and servers, to maintain a smooth workflow and contribute to a positive working environment.
Process customer payments accurately and efficiently, providing receipts and maintaining a secure cash handling process.
Our Ideal Candidate
The role of a Barista is integral to our team, as they are responsible for delivering an exceptional coffee experience to all our guests. We are looking for someone who is deeply passionate, skilled in the art of coffee-making, and committed to providing top-notch service.
2+ years of barista industry experience
Experience working in cafes, restaurants, or other hospitality environments
Excellent knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and flavour profiles.
Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
Experience with light-roast coffee is required.
Ability to pour latte art.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to read and speak Dutch and English preferred.
